Detailed functions

Inverter and heat pump operation

The inverter compressor adjusts its speed to the actual demand. At startup, the system runs at high power, then reduces to the required power and maintains the temperature without noticeable fluctuations. In heating mode, the device operates as an air-to-air heat pump and uses the heat from the outdoor air down to minus 30 °C. The three-stage energy management, the Gear function, limits the power consumption as desired.

Air quality and purification

The ionization technology cleans the room air during operation. In addition, there are three filter stages: HD filter, cold catalyst filter, and BIO filter. The iClean self-cleaning freezes the heat exchanger and then quickly thaws it again, which releases adhering dust, mold, and grease. The humidity can be controlled between 35 and 85 percent.

Control and comfort

The Wi-Fi module is built in from the factory. Control is via the Bosch HomeCom Easy app; a separate module or gateway is not required. The system can also be operated via voice assistants.

Heating operation is possible down to minus 30 °C outdoor temperatures. The available power decreases as the outdoor temperature falls. This allows it to operate at lower temperatures than the 3000i and 3200i series, which heat down to minus 20 °C.

How loud is the device?

Depending on the fan speed, the indoor unit operates at 24, 33, 38, or 43 dB(A). The manufacturer specifies 56 dB(A) for the outdoor unit.

May I install the air conditioner myself?

The installation and commissioning of a split air conditioner are carried out by a certified specialist company. Self-installation is not intended.
